Updating ubuntu using cd rom

Visit Stack Exchange I'm wondering how I can update the kernel modules properly in the hd-media initrd file for Ubuntu: Using those files, I want to make a usb bootable ubuntu server install. However, to make it work properly, I have to use the old ubuntu 10.04 iso instead of the newer one 10.04.2.If you want to save yourself from burning a CD, but have some SD memory card around, you can try to put the ISO as the operating system card on the SD card, and boot from it.

I have trie to replace the modules by modifying the (deleting the old modules in /lib/modules/ and copying newer ones from the on the ISO) but it's not working.Stack Exchange network consists of 175 Q&A communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers.Visit Stack Exchange In order to perform the udpate you need the alternate CD that you can download from here. You can find all the relevant instructions on how to perform the upgrade on the official ubuntu site.Of course you do not need to burn the actual CD or DVD.
